After several weeks of civil unrest, the East German government announced on 9 November 1989 that all GDR citizens could visit West Germany and West Berlin. Crowds of East Germans crossed and climbed onto the Wall, joined by West Germans on the other side in a celebratory atmosphere.

Tear down that wall
It was good when the wall was pulled down.
I should have guessed it but didn't. I can't imagine what that must have been like to be walled off from your family and friends. Amen that it is down.
I remember that clearly. Thank god that is over.
That's a great photo! I've seen fragments of the wall and they are covered with that sort of graffiti.
