At the instigation of the Soviet Union, the East German government begins the construction of the Berlin Wall. It is intended to prevent the exodus of thousands more East Germans fleeing the "workers paradise" to the West.
It was my first thought. How awful it must have been to have watched it being built knowing family members were on the other side. Amen when it came down.

ReplyDeleteDang. I didn't think outside the US. On closer inspection it is obvious.
ReplyDeleteThat is quit a photo to sew. The history and the destruction of people that followed could not of been foretold.
