Don and Sandy K had stayed over for a few days visit and left some fond memories of the many good times we've spent together. Included was some of their maple syrup, produced at their home Kerkwood, along the Maple River. I did a previous post on that abode a few years back. It's quite the homestead. Take a look at http://baron-troutbirder.blogspot.com/2008/08/was-it-shangri-la.html
For Easter, Mrs T's brother and spouse Candy came to visit. Easter dinner was followed by Bill and I hiking the dogs through Forestville State Park. Working off a few calories is always a good idea.

How neat they make their own syrup but even neater that they share.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the store was closed. Hope it is still a functioning one.
Real maple syrup - what a treat! It sounds like you've enjoyed some great company.
ReplyDeleteWe also enjoyed Forestville a few years ago. We were on a kick to try to visit all the state parks. Good thing we got to quite a few in SE MN because now my M-I-L no longer lives in Lake City, AND we now have 4 grandkids, on three different states.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, real maple syrup?? Lucky you, and fun guests as well!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of home harvested honey but I thought harvesting your own maple syrup was a thing of the past. Hmmm...I have a maple tree in my yard... what do you think?
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have some real maple syrup!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I love maple syrup! Nice post!
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to spend time with old friends. Glad you had the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteMaple syrup on pancakes sounds good to me.
